The Benefits of LED Headlights

LED headlights produce a much brighter light than the normal head lamp bulbs produce. The amount of light you receive from LED headlights is as much as twice the amount of light you would receive from an ordinary comparable head lamp bulb. The increased lighting allows you to see more on the roadway and thus be safer.

Oncoming traffic will attest to the fact that the LED headlights on the newer cars are much bright than their original counterparts. The oncoming traffic will notice your vehicle because the light being emitted from the LED headlights is much brighter and more noticeable. The good thing is that the increased brightness of the light does not blind the other drivers. These types of signal indicators, brake lights and headlamps create a safer car.

Another good benefit of the LED headlights is they require less energy to be operated. The head lamps on your vehicle are powered by your battery. Many other things are also powered by the car battery. If the items require less power from the battery to work then your battery will not be under a strain and will ultimately last longer. You also get the benefit of when your battery is low on power it will still be able to cause things that use less energy to work. You will not be left in the dark when you have these headlamps on your vehicle.

A lot of the newer models come standard with this type of headlamp. The headlamps are more expensive than the ones that were installed on older model cars, but they last twice, if not three times, longer than the older style headlamps. The increased safety is one of the major reasons that car manufacturers are installing these items, but the fact that the head lamps use less energy and burn at a lower temperature is also a major advantage.
If you have an older model car then you will need to install a kit that allows the light emitting diodes style head lamps to work on it. These kits are available at most automotive parts stores, and you can take the vehicle to the dealership and have their mechanics install the item for you. Even if you do not get the head lamps replaced with light emitting diodes consider replacing the tail lights and turn signals to increase the safety of your vehicle. LED headlights are a huge improvement over the original style of head lamps.

LED Headlights Gaining Popularity in the Auto Industry

Light emitting diodes have been used in a number of different applications as a light source, since they were developed in the early 1960s. For the last few years, they have found an increasing amount of use as the headlamps in many automobiles, but they must be introduced as replacements in the automobile aftermarket. Installation is easy, but there are a few important considerations.
There may be several advantages and disadvantages that come with the use of LED headlights, and one of the most obvious disadvantages is the initial price. LED headlights will usually cost more than traditional halogen headlights. They can cost almost as 3 times as much, and are more heat-sensitive. Some cooling device or mechanism, such as a heat sink may be needed.
There may be some legal issues with the lights, in your region, that is regulated at the state or municipal level, and you should check with your local authorities, before you install LED headlights in your automobile. The light may be required to be of a certain brightness that is specified in lumens.
Light emitting diodes are a high-efficiency light source. The quality and brightness of the light is much better while less energy is consumed, and they also last much longer than traditional halogen lights. Because of the higher efficiency they are being used in an expanding amount of applications in both industry and residences.
• When used in automobiles, the increased brightness results in improved visibility over longer distances, which can improve safety on the roadways, when accidents are avoided.
• The average LED light may last as much as 5000 hours, which is 200 times more than the traditional halogen light. Lower replacement costs, results in considerable savings.
• The quality of the light created with LED is more natural, as the color temperatures at specific ranges, are much closer to those of natural sunlight. LED lights require almost no maintenance and emit very little heat radiation.
These are only a few of the advantages, but as the costs of manufacturing the lights are reduced, as mass adoption introduces greater cost efficiency, the cost disadvantage can very easily be overcome. It may still be a bit too early to tell whether the auto industry is going to switch completely to LED lights, but they are slowly being introduced in the luxury vehicle category. The reasons are much more than aesthetics, as they have proven to be more economical.
Recent surveys show that the top priority as far as technology is concerned for new car buyers is LED headlights.

Choosing the Best Auto Headlight and What Does Halogen, HID, Xenon and LED Bulb Means

Do you know that the world's first electric headlamp was invented by the Electric Vehicle Company based in Connecticut, United States and was powered by an electric car in the year 1898? Since then, there have been significant improvements on the type of headlights as well as its functionality.
If you happen to drive in the night and see a pair of blurry yellow colored headlights approaching from the opposite direction of the road then you have mostly likely encounter an old classic. Such headlights employ a century old tungsten filament technology that is less commonly used by today's auto manufacturers.

If you see an incoming bright blue/white headlamp, chances are it comes from a luxury Mercedes or BMW cruising past you at lightning speed. Such vehicles are factory fitted with HID or High Intensity Discharge lamps or better known as Xenon lights. Xenon headlamps are known to burn brighter than conventional headlamps given the same voltage/wattage consumption and therefore its popularity.

It is obvious that the bright blue/white light gives the driver better visibility while on the road and headlamp manufacturers have been quick to acknowledge the growing demand for such headlights. Many motorists have converted their headlamps by switching to xenon bulbs that can be self-installed easily. There are many brands and makes available in the market today simply by browsing through the internet.

Before you decide to switch, check your existing headlamps first. If your car is fitted with the original headlamps, the first thing you have to figure out is whether it is using separate bulbs for the dip beam and the high beam. There are also cars that use a single bulb for both the dip and high beam. A single bulb that can perform dip and high beam function has two filaments inside the bulb. When you switch on your headlamp, the dip beam filament will always remain lit and continues to remain lit even after the high beam is switched on. Headlamps that utilize a single bulb with two filaments are easily recognized when you take it out because it has a 3-pin connection.

On the other hand, a headlamp that uses separate high beam bulb has a single pin connection while its low beam counterpart has a two-pin connection.

Next, check the original manufacturer specification because there are other bulb manufacturers that do not conform to the above pin connection specification. However, you will find that almost 90% of auto bulb manufacturer conforms to the above pin specification.

Prior to the popularity of HID, many autos have switched from the traditional tungsten bulbs to Halogen. Although the functionality remains the same, Halogen gives off white light using thinner filament. The advantage of thinner filament is that it gives off brighter light. With thinner filament however, it tend to burns out easily and to overcome this problem, manufacturers have been able to increase its lifespan by incorporating halogen gas inside the filament, thus the name halogen bulb.

The continuous development in headlights technology has always focused on brighter and longer lasting bulbs that use the least amount of energy. The brightest bulb is not always the most useful because it produces glare that can temporarily blind drivers approaching form opposite direction of the road. Popularity of HID bulbs was due to its brightness and attractive blue/white lights produced. It is said to burn 3 times brighter and 10 times the lifespan of a Halogen bulb. However, be sure to fork out more for HID bulbs if you intend on investing in such headlights.

The latest headlamp technology is focusing on LED bulbs or Light Emitting Diodes. The advantage of LED over other existing bulbs is the much superior lifespan and durability. Its small size affords headlamp designers greater flexibility. It is well documented that many of the LED's produced in the 1970s and 1980s are still in operation today. The use of LED for tail lamps, brake lights and interior lighting has been quite common but limited for front headlight due to high cost factor of producing it to match natural daylight color.

LED Headlights: A Unique Blend Of Technology And Style

Of late, one particular device is creating a buzz with its widespread applications all around, ranging from torch lights to street lights and now it is available for headlights too. Yes, you got it right, they are LED lights! Today, LED lights are being used extensively in the form of brake illuminations, garage illuminations, street illuminations, and much more. However, have you ever wondered what attracts the automotive world towards these lights and what makes them such an excellent headlight option?
Well, the answer lies in the efficiency and high lumen output of the LED illuminations as compared to the halogen illuminations. The replacement of the halogen headlights with the LED headlights has not only resulted in brighter and crisper light output, but they also provide a much longer lifespan and higher rate of dependency. This is the reason why this lighting technology has emerged as a new standard in other industrial applications as well. The high lumen output of these LED lights provides a longer visibility range and thereby improves the level of safety. On average, a halogen headlight assembly lasts for about 1,000 hours, which is 1/50th the amount of time that a LED headlight assembly lasts. With a high color temperature of about 5,000 K, LED lights compare much closer to the sun as compared to the incandescent or halogen illuminations.
When compared with the halogen or incandescent lights, LED lights produce a higher lumen output, rendering them a much more efficient lighting option. Unlike the traditional illumination systems, they do not require any type of filters for gaining colors. Moreover, these headlights are mostly maintenance free as they emit much less heat.
Owing to these valued advantages, LED headlight systems are quickly replacing the halogen or incandescent lights. As of now, the only hurdle which stands in their way is the higher cost of these illuminations. However, with the growing market of these products and the development of more efficient production methods, LEDs are expected to cross this hurdle easily.
The development of the more efficient LED headlight systems has revolutionized the domain of vehicle lighting. Ranging from a quicker reaction time to a much longer lifespan, these illuminations are here to stay and will soon creating a much stronger impact in the automotive industry. The introduction of the LED headlights has emerged as a unique combination of style and technology. Nowadays, the vehicle designers can not only impart an iconic look to their designs, but also make it look noticeable in all sorts of situations, irrespective of the time of the day.

Motorcycle Headlights: Why Old Bulbs Could Be Putting You In Danger

Like any other parts, the life of your motorcycle headlights is finite. This means that over time they will wear out. What should you do? Let's investigate:
This has some impact on your safety, as when a bulb 'blows' it will leave you in darkness. In the daytime not a problem, but can you imagine trying to ride a bike in the evening or at night without a headlight? In this situation the sensible option is to change the bulb as soon as possible, but it's what happens before a bulb finally goes that we're interested in here.
Standard motorcycle headlights bulbs are commonly halogen bulbs with a tungsten element that is superheated to become white-hot and therefore give out light. This is OK, but a by-product of this old technology is mainly heat and not light and over time the tungsten element will literally burn away and leave a deposit on the bulb's glass, weakening its brightness.
In this situation you're less visible to other drivers and you have reduced visibility at night. The result of this? You're less safe, thanks to this one small component.
It also works your bike's battery harder, as older bulbs are energy-hungry as they need more and more power to run. This doesn't affect your safety, but it will lead to a worse fuel consumption and more wear and tear on your battery.
So motorcycle headlights are a small component with a big role to play. If you think that you have ageing bulbs it is time to start looking at alternatives.
The best option is HID motorcycle headlights.
These are the ultra-bright xenon lights that are about 3 times brighter than standard halogen bulbs. Not only do they give you more light and more visibility, but they also use less power and won't dim with age because they don't burn anything; and so you're immediately removing a weakened brightness due to build-up from the equation.
They are a bit more expensive than halogen bulbs, but you can pick one up from somewhere around 30 pounds. Bear in mind that this should last the lifetime of your bike! If you have an older bike just double check their compatibility before you buy as they are a very modern bulb and may not be available in a size that fits.
You could also choose LED motorcycle headlights.
Based on the humble LED, these guys also burn nothing and just emit light by passing electricity through a metal semiconductor. They are good for bikers as they light up immediately unlike any other bulbs which grow brighter as they 'warm up.' They are also very small which means that they make great indicator and brake lights too.
If you do serious mileage these could be the answer as they are very solidly built and have a minimum of separate parts and are therefore very resistant to vibration.
Again they are very energy-efficient and are brighter than halogen bulbs and so are a safe option, yet they lack the sheer power and brightness of HID bulbs.
Price-wise you're looking at around 20 pounds per bulb.
These bulbs sound hi-tech, but actually it's very easy to find them at a low price these days if you shop online. If you can just wait for a few days for delivery then you'll find that you can save an awful lot over buying from the garage or motorcycle dealership.

Audi Offers LED Headlights For Its Flagship A8

Audi has designed LED headlights out there as an optional extra on one more car, the fresh new A8. LED headlights are also available on the Audi R8 sportscar.
Audi states that that the complete LED headlights offer the A8 an "unmistakable look even in daylight, and a lot more so after the fall of darkness. By using a color temperature of 5, 500 Kelvin, their light appears like daylight and therefore is a lot easier on the eyes and reduces fatigue."
The LED lamps are "zero-maintenance" and intended for the lifetime of the car. They will also have very low power usage. The low beams, for instance, use up only 40 watts per unit, a bit less in comparison with the currently highly efficient xenon plus headlights.
The low beams consist of 10 small lens modules offering through the headlight in a eye-catching arc called as the "wing" due to its shape. Just underneath this is one more arc of 22 white and 22 yellow LED bulbs for the daytime running lights (DRLs) and the corner lights. All these appear to the viewers as homogeneous, ongoing strip of light.
Positioned over the "wing" are the high beams, in whose light is produced by 2 highly effective four-cell LED lights and a surface reflector-free system. An aid function changes in between the low beams and the high beams. Additional high-output LEDs generate the highway light and the cornering light. A independent fan and heat sink control the heat range of each headlight unit and avoid condensation.
With the exception of the reversing light, the tail lights are completely equipped with LED technology, with each side that contains 72 LEDs. The Audi used SMD LED lights, which can be packed closely along with high accuracy, in many places because of to the minimal amount of space out there.
The tail lights, which take only 9 watts per unit, form a trapezoidal contour that seems as an even, homogeneous strip. Its top section is a light guide-a plastic tube-and the lower segment is a distinctive, reflective freeform surface. It is wider than the upper section to optically lower the center of gravity of the A8's tail end. The turn signal is positioned on the upper segment of the tail light and forms a wide, horizontal stripe.
The five-portion brake light is positioned within the trapezoid. When the new A8 decelerates strongly, the brake light flashes rapidly to alert the traffic behind it. The hazard warning lights are triggered when the car comes to a stop. A number of of the LEDs in the brake light can be controlled in such as way as to function as the back fog light.
The A8 also has an optional background lighting package. LEDs will light up the center console, tunnel, door pockets and door sill trim. Drivers can select from three interior LED colors (Polar, Ruby, and Ivory), and can also adjust the brightness via the Audi Multimedia Interface (MMI).

LEDs: The Light of the Future

Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), “semiconductors that emit light when zapped with [positive polarity] electricity,”[1] are on the verge of taking over the commercial and consumer sectors of the lighting industry. With greater efficiency, longer useful lives, and their “clean” nature, LEDs are the future of light, pushing traditional incandescent and fluorescent bulbs toward extinction. Only the higher production costs for LEDs has extended the existence of traditional bulbs.
History
When viewing the history of traditional bulbs, the higher costs associated with producing LEDs is not an insurmountable hurdle to overcome. The incandescent bulb lingered for about 70 years before supplanting “candles, oil lanterns, and gas lamps” as the main source of lighting.[2] When the first crude incandescent bulb was created in 1809 by Humphrey Davy, an English chemist, using two charcoal strips to produce light, it remained impractical. Later when the first true incandescent bulb was created by Warren De la Rue in 1820, utilizing a platinum filament to produce light, it was too expensive for commercial use. Only when Thomas Edison created an incandescent bulb utilizing a carbonized filament within a vacuum in 1879, did the incandescent bulb become practical and affordable for consumer use.
Although considered relatively novel, the concept for LEDs first arose in 1907 when Henry Joseph Round used a piece of Silicone Carbide (SiC) to emit a dim, yellow light. This was followed by experiments conducted by Bernhard Gudden and Robert Wichard Pohl in Germany during the late 1920s, in which they used “phosphor materials made from Zinc Sulphide (ZnS) [treated] with Copper (Cu)” to produce dim light.[3] However, during this time, a major obstacle existed, in that many of these early LEDs could not function efficiently at room temperature. Instead, they needed to be submerged in liquid nitrogen (N) for optimal performance.
This led to British and American experiments in the 1950s that used Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) as a substitute for Zinc Sulphide (ZnS) and the creation of an LED that produced invisible, infrared light at room temperature. These LEDs immediately found use in photoelectric, sensing applications. The first “visible spectrum” LED, producing “red” light was created in 1962 by Nick Holonyak, Jr. (b. 1928) of the General Electric Company who used Gallium Arsenide Phosphide (GaAsP) in place of Gallium Arsenide (GaAs). Once in existence, they were quickly adopted for use as indicator lights.
Before long these red LEDs were producing brighter light and even orange-colored electroluminescence when Gallium Phosphide (GaP) substrates were used. By the mid 1970s, Gallium Phoshide (GaP) itself along with dual Gallium Phosphide (GaP) substrates were being used to produce red, green, and yellow light. This ushered in the trend “towards [LED use in] more practical applications” such as calculators, digital watches and test equipment, since these expanded colors addressed the fact that “the human eye is most responsive to yellow-green light.”[4]
However, rapid growth in the LED industry did not begin until the 1980s when Gallium Aluminium Arsenides (GaAIAs) were developed, providing “superbright” LEDs (10x brighter than LEDs in use at the time) – “first in red, then yellow and… green,” which also required less voltage providing energy savings. [5] This led to the concept of the first LED flashlight, in 1984.
Then in parallel with emerging laser diode technology, which focused on maximizing light output, the first “ultrabright” LEDs were created in the early 1990s through the use of Indium Gallium Aluminium Phosphide (InGaAIP) led in part by Toshiba’s creation of an LED that “reflected 90% or more of the generated light…” In addition, during this same period, it was discovered that different colors, including “white” (although a “true” white light was only recently produced through the use of an organic LED (OLED) by Cambridge Display Technology, in the U.K.) could be produced through “adjustments in the size of the energy band gap” when Indium Gallium Aluminium Phosphide (InGaAIP) was used, much in part because of the work of Shuji Nakamura of Nichia Corporation, who developed the world’s first blue LED in 1993.[6] Today, this technology is used to produce LEDs that even emit “exotic colors” such as pink, purple and aqua as well as “genuine ultra-violet ‘black’ light.[7]
A critical milestone was reached in 1997 when it became cost effective to produce “high brightness” LEDs in which the intensity (benefits) exceeded the associated costs to produce it.
In conjunction with this milestone, newer technology is emerging that will likely reduce costs even further (and improve lighting) – the introduction of quantum dots or microscopic crystals ([8]
Advantages
The advantages of adopting LEDs to provide sole source lighting for every application are significant. LEDs emit virtually no heat (wasted energy) and are “in fact… cool to the touch” unlike incandescent light bulbs. They are also more durable (encased in a hardened shell and resistant to vibration and shocks) than and last up to 50 times longer than traditional incandescent and fluorescent bulbs ( some can be used for up to 10 years), and they “use a greater proportion of the electricity flowing through them” translating into “savings for consumers.” [9] According to the U.S. Department of Energy, “widespread adoption of LEDs could cut U.S. consumption of electricity for lighting by 29%”[10] since they require less energy to function and by their nature, reduce the amount of air conditioning needed to keep areas cool and comfortable.
The shape of LEDs also provides lighting benefits when compared to that of traditional bulbs. Unlike incandescent and fluorescent bulbs, LEDs do not require the use of an external reflector to collect and direct their light. In addition, “LEDs light up very quickly… achiev[ing] full brightness in approximately 0.01 seconds – 10 times faster than” traditional bulbs.[11]
LEDs also produce no ultra-violet output, which can damage fabrics, unlike traditional bulbs; they are light-weight, ecologically friendly, and can produce different colors (without the use of color filters) based on the amount of power provided to each primary color ensuring that electricity is not wasted. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Nano Structures Lab) is presently conducting research that could lead to the creation of an LED “where both color and intensity (brightness) can be set electronically.”[12]
Uses and the Future
As LEDs gain a greater portion of the lighting market, they are currently used in a variety of devices and applications ranging from traffic control devices (e.g. traffic lights, which include the single signal device that changes colors from green to yellow to red), barricade lights, hazard signs, message displays (e.g. Times Square, New York, commodities and news message boards, scoreboards), cellphones, televisions, large video screens used at sporting and other outdoor events (e.g. Miami Dolphins end-zone screen), calculators, digital clocks and watches, flashlights (including models for which 60 seconds of manual winding provides one-hour of light, eliminating the need to stockpile fresh batteries for emergencies), Christmas lights, airport runway lights, buoy lights, and automotive applications (e.g. indicator lights as well as head lights and signal lights in some vehicles; driver’s of the new 2006 Ford Mustang can even change the color (125 different varieties) of their “LED-laden dashboard by using the ‘MyColor’ feature”[13]).
In fact the automotive industry plans to replace all bulbs with LEDs by 2010, while efforts are currently underway to replace all traffic signals with LED devices. At the same time, plans are in place to eventually use LEDs to light streets as well as much of the Third World and other areas “with no means of electricity” since “solar charged batteries” can power LEDs for the duration of each night. [14]
In addition, “Phillips Electronics is developing remote-controlled LED room lighting [while] Boeing Corp. plans to use LED’s throughout the interior of its new 787 Dreamliner commercial jet.”[15]
With the promise that LEDs hold, it is likely that someday they will provide illumination for houses and offices, X-Ray capabilities for the medical field, power computer monitors, as well as an assortment of other devices and applications. The possibilities are endless. However, before LEDs can supplant the traditional bulb, “designers and advocates of the technology must overcome… the usual obstacles to mainstream market adoption: Industry-accepted standards must be developed and costs must be reduced.”[16] Currently costs are coming down and some companies are moving towards these industry standards (e.g. Phillips Electronics is working on LED bulbs that can screw into existing light sockets, while besthomeledlighting.com already offers LED screwable bulbs -- one consisting of 70 LEDS that emits a "warm white color similar to the light from an incandescent bulb"[17] using only 3 Watts of energy and another LED bulb that actually changes colors when lit). With these efforts along with the adoption, exploitation, and production of LED technology by growing numbers of companies, it is inevitable that LEDs will become the sole source of lighting rendering traditional incandescent and fluorescent bulbs extinct. In short, LEDs are the light of the future, a light that will benefit not only consumers but also industry and the Earth in general.

LED Headlights To Light Up The Horizons

The majority of car owners everywhere take whatever lights that come with the car without complaint. And why not? Today's OEM headlights are a far cry from the feeble incandescent sealed beams that passed for headlights in 50s and 60s. Nowadays, the very minimum lighting that can be found in cars are halogen-type bulbs, with high output HID lights standard in luxury and sporting cars.
At the bleeding edge of automotive headlight development are the LED headlights introduced by luxury German manufacturer Audi for their R8 sports car. Where filament type headlights generate only five percent of the power input as light, LEDs offer much more. The heat you feel from incandescent and halogen bulbs is energy that is being wasted. In contrast, LEDs run cooler and being more efficient, use up less power to generate the same light output. But as with any new technology, cost is a prohibiting factor for early and widespread adaptation. Audi has offered these headlights as an option for selected models, but the owner has to fork out 5,000 dollars to enjoy the benefits of LED headlights.s
For manufacturers who have begun to share platforms with partner automakers, LEDs also offer a critical advantage. For decades, designers have had to design the front ends of their new cars with round or rectangular lights in mind. In fact, if you look at car designs from the 40s to the 60s, the round headlight was a constant design element that designers were powerless to modify. Now, LEDs can be arranged into less restrictive shapes, freeing designers to style the front ends of their cars in newer and more visually exciting ways.
Owners of older cars don't have much of an option when it comes to upgrading to LED headlights. There is an American company that has introduced replacement LED lights but reviews have been mixed, and the shape of the lights are limited to the round and rectangular headlights that have been a standard design for decades. Still, development is continuing and any issues and technical challenges that have appeared will undoubtedly be addressed. But even without this option, many aftermarket lighting systems are available to the car owner who wants to modify his or her car's lighting system. Halogen and HID systems have proven themselves to be proven and reliable alternatives, and with the technology well-known, are available for price far below the thousands that OEM LED options charge.

Dodge Ram LED Headlights

The problem with many models of these brands made today mean that they come stock with Halogen Dodge Ram Headlights. From 1981 all the way to 2010 and up, there are a myriad of differing lighting options available to you. The early favorites have been for many years a Ram projector headlight setup. Instead of the wavy light pattern that come stock, a projector beam focuses and directs the light exactly where it is needed. As with clipping a hose slightly, you spread the wave, however when focused out as a stream, it is much more powerful and effective. This headlight technology is also the best method of controlling a High Intensity Discharge (HID) Lamp. With the excessive brightness that these emit, it can be dangerous and ineffective to not focus the beam directly but rather to point it exactly where it needs to be for maximum vision and safety.
A Dodge Ram HID conversion kit coupled with some new Ram headlights can transform your truck into a whole new animal. The light output will increase nighttime visibility to unparalleled levels at an incredibly affordable price compared to dealer installed options. Going off road or driving late at night can be very dangerous with old lighting technologies. Step up and invest in your safety with a quality set of Dodge Ram Xenon Headlights to illuminate the road like never before.
The next step up from projector style headlights are Dodge Ram Halo LED (Angel Eye) headlights. These add a beautiful looking LED ring around your headlights and have the award winning and lasting LED technology which ensures they can be seen even in the day. This is the newest technology you see being utilized first by Audi and now Mercedes and BMW, which are now available for your Dodge Ram. The biggest improvement that these newer Ram headlight technologies also add is the much lower power usage by these new lighting parts.
What this means is that technology will now allow your Ram to have much better lighting while also cutting electrical energy use by half. What's more the life of these new Xenon HID and LED bulbs will most times outlast the vehicle they are installed on. Looking at Ram CCFL LED Halo headlights will mean you are researching the highest quality and best performing Ram headlights available anywhere. The CCFL LED technology for your Dodge Ram means LED's that are up to 4x brighter than standard LED's, while also adding a substantial lifespan to your Ram headlight. This allows you to have peace of mind when investing in new Ram headlights from . The beauty of all of these headlights also is that there is little to no modifications needed on almost all the differing brands that are carried. Having a direct fitting and installing set of Dodge Ram headlights guarantees a long term relationship with your new technology that will always and continually remind you of the great investment you have made in your safety and those of other drivers.

Head Light Bulbs And Other Lighting Features That You Need To Be Sure Are Working On Your Vehicle At All Times

Your lighting on your car is not narrowed to one location. There are several different lighting fixtures that can go bad on your vehicle, need replaced, or simply need maintained. For this reason, it is important to understand where these lights are and why they are important to the overall success, look, and safety of your vehicle. The list below includes some of these lights locations and how they are important to your automobile’s success on the road.
Back Up Lights
One light that you may be required to replace on your vehicles or maintain are the back-up lights. These lights are located on the back of the vehicle. Their purpose is to signal to other drivers that you and your vehicle are backing up. This is important because sometimes backing up is needed quickly. You may not have time to brake and wait but must back up in order to protect yourself or your vehicle. The back-up lights, then, signal to the driver behind you that you are going to make a reverse move or may have to. For this reason, it is important that you make sure that these lights are working appropriately.
Head Lights
Another important light on the vehicle that needs to be working properly at all times are the head lights. Headlight bulbs can burn out easily or may become damaged. As a result, you may find that you cannot see the road as well and that driving becomes more difficult. It is also crucial that you have working headlight bulbs to make sure that your lights are up to legal standards. This can be important so that you do not get a ticket or have to pay a fine because you did not know your lights were broken or out. Check your lights, then, often and make sure that they are working appropriately.
Turn Signals
Just as with back-up lights, turn signalling lights are important. They serve as a way to tell other drivers your actions before they occur. This can be important in order to avoid accidents and unwanted interactions on the roads with other drivers. Just as with head lights as well, you can also find yourself in legal trouble if you do not utilise your turn signal prior to actually turning. You may get cited or may be fined for failure to signal. For that reason, you must make sure that you do so and that you have working lights to do so.

The available in the market have lumen ratings but they are not based on any specific standards. Thus, it becomes very difficult to decide the more effective just on the basis of its lumen rating as two with different intensity of light may have same lumen rating. The manufacturers actually do this lumen rating based on many different factors like battery power usage, type of lens used or strength of reflection of light, etc. While producing light, forms a bright hotspot in the centre of the beam which differs largely in terms of brightness than the rest of the beam. Our eye adjusts as per that hotspot and cannot see clearly in rest of the beam. In ideal conditions, the bike lights should not differ in its beam pattern for higher visibility.

It becomes essential for you to go through certain specifications carefully for choosing a good quality. You should always check them in terms of the intensity of its light produced which should not be totally based only on its lumen rating. The lumen rating of these available in the market can range from 100 to 2000 lumens. The other important feature is the power backup for you. Introduction of HDMI

What is HDMI?

There's a selection of Lilliput camera monitor cable connectors available, each of which can be used for any uncompressed TV or PC video format, including standard, enhanced, high definition, & 3D video signals; up to 8 channels of compressed or uncompressed digital audio; a CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) connection; & an Ethernet knowledge connection. HDMI implements the EIA/CEA-861 standards, which define video formats & waveforms, transport of compressed, uncompressed, & LPCM audio, auxiliary knowledge, & implementations of the VESA EDID.

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transferring uncompressed digital audio/video knowledge from an HDMI-compliant tool ("the source device") to a compatible digital audio tool, computer monitor, video projector, or digital tv. HDMI is a digital replacement for existing analog video standards.

HDMI manufacturers pay an annual fee of US$10,000 and a royalty rate of $0.15 per unit, reduced to $0.05 if the HDMI logo is used, & further reduced to $0.04 if HDCP is also implemented. An alternative fee for HDMI manufacturers making less than ten,000 units per year is an annual fee of $5,000 with a royalty rate of $1 per unit. The royalty only applies to final products & does not apply to products that are included in, or with, a licensed HDMI product that is already subject to the royalty. An example is that a HDMI cable sold directly to consumers is paid for by the hdmi cable manufacturer but if the cable manufacturer sells the HDMI cable to a HDTV manufacturer that includes it with an HDTV subject to the royalty then the HDTV manufacturer pays only the royalty on the HDTV.
