The Android TV Box: What's the Hype?

The next generation of TV boxes is here, beginning with the Android TV box. One of the newest creations by Google, this box not only features regular television channels, but it also contains a game console and Internet browser as well.
The Personal Computer has Gone Public
Benefits of the Android TV box work well with the current social trends that have been developing in the past few years regarding Internet usage. Though Internet users once craved solitary or impersonal contact, the need to connect has emerged in cyberspace as well. Teens spend more time watching YouTube than they do television, and many people keep track of life events via the Facebook pages of friends and family. The advent of the Android TV box brings that opportunity back to the family room, where family members can watch first steps of nieces and nephews or the latest hilarious recorded antics of some stranger's cat together.
Gaming is for Everyone
Games have come a long way. Though first-person fantasy or shooting games are still one of the most popular game genres, they are hardly the only type out there, and young men are no longer the only market for computer games. Casual gaming with puzzles and point-and-click adventures are popular for women, who make up the fastest growing demographic of game users. Youth now have games not only for fun, but for education. More and more game developers are targeting educational topics to make learning a more enjoyable and efficient goal for entire families.
Free Streaming
Though the TiVo is always a possibility in addition to a regular television box, the streaming channels on the Android box offer many shows anytime and often without commercials. Streaming often allows a user to watch an entire series, beginning to end, without the concern that they missed recording a certain episode because it was moved to another viewing time by a late baseball game or breaking news story. It also allows users to target hard-to-find shows, old episodes no longer airing, and to introduce children to their parents' favorite movies of their own youth. Instead of watching what is offered, broadcasting becomes more like viewing from a library of always-available classics and new shows alike.
Cutting Edge Company
The Android TV Box is, of course, a Google product, which means constant upgrades and new, out-of-the-box ideas. Users can be in a situation to constantly experience even better viewing and interaction experiences, with the system upgrades and creative thinking that Google is known for. And when it comes to televisions, they've managed to, at least figuratively, think outside the box.
